Innovations, a company that develops plugins, brushes and nozzles
for various graphics applications, has released Sapphire Brushes
3 for the Propeller Paint Engine. The "brushes" include
180 patterns that can be used with Propeller. (Propeller itself
is a paint plugin for Adobe Photoshop that allows users to create
painterly effects within Photoshop.) The set does not include
Propeller, which is available separately for $49.95 from http://www.nowhouse.com.
The brushes
in the Sapphire collection (actually patterns) are TIFFs that
can be used royalty-free. The brushes/patterns are divided into
three categories. A set of brushes/patterns with rough edge; a
set of gradient-based effect pattern brushes; and a set of patterns
based on earlier nozzles brushes.
The gradient
brush effects range from rainbow colors to pulse lightning effects
to tiger-like patterns to subtle pen strokes.
