Video Tutorial: Saturation in Adobe Photoshop 6
Adding color and cleaning up JPEG artifacts

by Deke McClelland
Total Training

In this lesson from Total Photoshop 6, Deke McClelland starts with a digital photo that he snapped of his minivan. The color saturation in the photo is so low that the image almost appears to be grayscale. Simply increasing the saturation introduces ugly JPEG artifacts into the image. Deke shows you just the right combination of filters and techniques to raise the saturation and defeat the JPEG artifacts, resulting in a bright, colorful image with no loss of detail or sharpness. A minivan never looked so good!
