Agfa announced the first
of its new generation of TwinPlate scanners, the Duoscan F40. The new scanner
offers both FireWire and USB connectivity in a 42-bit DuoScan. The TwinPlate scanner
provides separate beds for scanning reflective and transparent originals.
Agfa includes glass-free
slide holders with the DuoScan F40, designed to eliminate distortion, such as
Newton Rings, that can be caused by the glass plate.
In addition to the newest
version of Agfa FotoLook scanning driver and ColorTune color-management software,
Agfa includes Adobe Photoshop LE and IRIS ReadIris optical character recognition
software.
The DuoScan F40 features
an optical resolution of 1,200 x 2,400 DPI, 42-bit color depth and a dynamic range
of 3.0 D. The reflective scanning area is A4/legal with an 8" x 10".
The DuoScan f40 will be
