Our pick for Best Adobe
Illustrator Plugin of 2000 will be receiving a major update next month. FILTERiT,
from CValley, will be released in version 4 by the end of February. The new version
sports a number of enhancements over version 3, including 3D transformations and
the ability to create motion blurs and animations. CValley will be showing off
the new version of this Mac-only tool at the Macworld Expo this week. (We'll be
reporting from Macworld all week, so stay tuned for more details.)
Some of the new features
include:
- Trace, which makes it possible
to create a motion blurs in animations when using the Illustrator 9's transparency,
as well as Flash-like animations for the Web, according to the company.
- 3D Transformations, which
come in 12 different shapes and forms. It allows you to rotate an object around
the XYZ axes.
- Fractalize, which allows
you to make the segments of an object appear rough.
FILTERiT 4 will require
Adobe Illustrator 8 or later and a Power Macintosh running System 7.5.3 or later.
It will be available for about $129. For more information, visit http://www.cvalley.com
