Adobe
has very quietly released an update to Illustrator 9so quietly,
in fact, that you can'y find it without browsing through the company's
FTP site. (A link is provided below.) The new version brings Illustrator
to 9.0.2 on both Mac and Windows platforms. There is no "Read
Me" file accompanying the update, but it will supposedly
increase compatibility between Illustrator and Photoshop 6, according
to Version
Tracker, a Web-based service that tracks software updates
for the Macintosh. Also according to Version Tracker, the new
version fixes a bug on the Mac (G4 only) that caused the Add AnchorPoint
tool to place points on a curve incorrectly.
The 9.0.2
update is free for users of Illustrator 9.0.1 on Macintosh and
Windows. It's available for download from ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/illustrator/.
Once you get there, click on your platform of choice, and follow
the links.
