ScenicSoft
has released version 1.1.1 of its UpFront production planning
package for Windows. UpFront produces printed imposition documents
as well as ScenicSoft Preps imposition template files. Printed
diagrams include all dimensions, page numbers and relevant job-specific
information.
According
to the release notes, the new version resolves the following
issues:
- The Section
Plan wizard and the Press Layout Plan wizard no longer allow
you to select inappropriate options.
- UpFront
no longer becomes unstable if you click column headers in
the list of press layouts.
- UpFront
no longer creates Preps templates with a combination of an
imposition and independent pages for layouts containing more
than one of the same section if the pages line up.
- UpFront
will warn the user if it is creating a Preps template with
a combination of an imposition and independent pages.
- Planner
no longer erroneously selects both a section and its mirroring
section when you are editing a work and turn or work and tumble
press layout plan.
- You can
set Section ID Either Side of Spine to zero in the Binderies
dialog box to prevent the Section ID mark appearing on the
spine of a press layout (typically in a perfect bound job).
- When
you attempt to save a Preps template that is open in Preps,
Job Builder notifies you that the template is open, instead
of ceasing to function.
- UpFront
no longer allows you to redraw while the Job Summary window
is displayed; this action previously caused system instability.
- If you
reopen a job that uses a press that has since been deleted
from the equipment database, UpFront no longer has a runtime
error when you save the job.
- UpFront
no longer has a runtime error when you attempt to edit properties
associated with the number of diagrams per page in the Print
Setup dialog box.
- When
you preview a section plan, ÒOffcutÓ and ÒPageÕs HeadÓ now
display correctly on separate lines.
- Pressing
the ÒCÓ key while in the Section Plans window, the Press Layout
Plans window, the Press Layout window, or the Print Preview
window no longer causes a runtime error.
- After
you add a quad mark to a press layout plan, the cursor changes
back to a pointer tool as expected.
- UpFront
no longer allows the user to give a Preps template a name
of longer than 31 characters, which previously caused problems
when the template was used in Preps on Macintosh.
- Rotating
a page in a press layout no longer changes the PrepsÕs template
pageÕs orientation property.
