A Lowly Apprentice
Production (ALAP) has released a 1.1 upgrade to ImagePort, an
XTension for QuarkXPress that allows users to import Photoshop
files directly into Quark with layers intact. The latest release
adds support for adjustment layers as well.
ImagePort also allows users to manipulate the layers, channels
and paths within Photoshop files without leaving Quark. It supports
Grayscale, RGB, CMYK, index and multichannel image modes. ALAP
says future versions will also support Photoshop effect layers.
Other ImagePort features include:
- Replace
selected indexed colors with spot colors;
- Choose
different clipping paths to control which areas of the image
display;
- Explore
different text wrap options by choosing different paths saved
with an image;
- Assign
channels to be spot colors, varnishes, embossing, die cuts,
or other special effects.
Users of ImagePort
1.0 can upgrade to 1.1 for free. The full version costs $99.99
for a single-0user license on Mac or Windows. For more information,
