Human Software has announced an upgrade to its AutoMask software for Windows. The new version (4.0) is tailored especially for Corel PhotoPaint 9 or 10. AutoMask offers multiple masking capacity on top of RGB/CMYK photos or layers. It works with multiple ranges of colors that users can define and tune to create masks.

The latest version offers a new user interface with a large preview window and unlimited zooming that lets users view any portion of the working area.

Masking features include:

  • Global density, which lets users pick up to six colors (RGB or CMYK) and create a mask on these selected areas. This Global Density also lets users select any color that they want to protect from being covered a mask.
  • A special Masking Brush that eliminates extra spots or unwanted masks created via the automatic density action. The brush is virtual and can be used on large images.
  • Local Density Brush, which can sample the image with the Density Brush Masking by picking up a color and then brushing to build a mask along the edge.
  • Protective density, which lets users sample colors they want excluded from a mask creation.

AutoMask 4.0 is available now for $99. For more information, visit http://www.humansoftware.com.
