Maxon Computer today announced a brand new product in its lineup
of 3D software—Cinema 4D Art. The new program is not an addon
to Maxon's Cinema 4D XL. Rather, it's a standalone targeted toward
designers and those who work in print and product visualization.
Cinema 4D Art is based upon Maxon's Cinema 4D XL and has inherited
many of its rendering capabilities, including post-rendering compositing
options. It has a maximum render size of 16,000 x 16,000 pixels
and outputs images in TIFF, Photoshop and JPEG formats.

Other features
include:
- More than 100 modeling tools;
- HyperNURBS for subdivision surfaces;
- Built-in parametric deformers, such as twist and bend;
- 13 material channels;
- Stackable materials;
>
- A materials system that allows for photorealistic materials.
Cinema 4D Art will be available March 19 for about $800. A version
bundled with BodyPaint 3D will also be available for about $1,050.
