SiPix has announced two new digital cameras in its lineup that will begin shipping later this month. The SiPix SC-2100 is a 2.1 megapixel that will sell for $279. The SC-2100 features auto focus, a six-element glass lens, 1.8" color LCD and 2x digital zoom. It also has a continuous-shoot mode for taking up to four shots in rapid succession at full resolution.
Auto exposure is standard, but users can also choose a manual compensation adjustment. Manual adjustments can also be made to white balance and sharpness. The camera includes an 8 MB CompactFlash card, which allows for six to 64 images to be captured, depending on resolution and quality. It will also include USB support and will ship with a strap, USB cable, video cable and a TWAIN driver.
SiPix will also be introducing the new iQuest DualCam, which is a combination digital video and still camera that will cost $99 when it ships later this month. The SiPix iQuest DualCam is a full-featured USB video camera, video conferencing camera and digital camera all in one, offering VGA video at up to 30 fps. Featuring a three mode built-in flash, the camera can be untethered from the computer to capture 640 x 480 dpi pictures. Included are such extra features as a 10-second self-timer and a video-out port.
The SiPix iQuest DualCam includes a tilt swivel base, AC power adapter, USB cable, video cable, camera strap, 2 AA alkaline batteries, owner's manual and a CD-ROM containing MGI's PhotoSuite III SE, TeVeo VIDiO Suite, Odyssey Multimedia and iQuest TWAIN driver.
Both cameras will be demonstrated at the PMA show beginning Feb.
