Adobe has announced it will bring its flagship products to Mac
OS X, though they're still not giving an expected release date.
A statement about Adobe's commitment to OS X on Adobe's Web site
says that that company plans to bring Photoshop and Illustrator
to OS X with the "next major release."
We're in the process of setting up interviews with Adobe regarding
their plans for the Mac and have not yet been able to pin down
a date for the next major releases of these programs.
According to the statement on Adobe's site, "Adobe supports the
direction Apple is taking with Mac OS X. Apple's new operating
system promises to ultimately deliver a powerful desktop platform
with enhanced stability and reliability for the Macintosh customer.
"Currently, most of Adobe's software products do not offer native
Mac OS X support. Adobe plans to support Mac OS X native mode
in future releases of our flagship products, beginning with Adobe
Acrobat Reader 5.0.
"We will continue to update our customers, partners, and the press
on the status of our products running on Mac OS X, both in Classic
and native modes."
