Extensis has added support for QuarkXPress in its preflighting
service called Preflight Online. This service allows users to
diagnose problems with documents via the Internet without additional
software.
With Preflight Online, document specs become available to service
provider in advance, as documents are preflighted before the job
is transmitted or shipped. It's self-installing and self-updating
for any user with a Web browser. It can also batch process multiple
files and tracks customer usage, most common document problems,
error per customer and other data.
Preflight Online now remotely inspects and analyzes QuarkXPress
4.x files, reporting on more than 60 different potential problems
involving fonts, colors, images and other document specifications,
according to Extensis. The Web-delivered service analyzes all
fonts and images used within QuarkXPress documents to create a
report that can be accessed by printers and service bureaus before
customers submit files for output at the printer. For more information,
