Printing
Varnish Plates from QuarkXPress
|
Place
the .psd file into your Quark XPress document
With ImagePort installed, you will be able to place .psd
files in your document.
In this
example, two spot colors will be added to the QuarkXPress
color list, those being Gloss Varnish and Dull Varnish.
Set
both Varnish plates to be visible in the ImagePort Palette.
You are now ready to print separations.

Printing
separations
As illustrated here in the Quark XPress Print dialog box,
a Gloss Varnish and a Dull Varnish plate will be output
when printing separations.
Make
any other changes that are specific for your output device
and click Print.
|
Output
separations
Printing separations from Quark XPress will result in
6 pieces of film:
-
Cyan
-
Magenta
-
Yellow
-
Black
-
Gloss
Varnish (GV)
-
Dull
Varnish (DV)
In
this example, alpha channels were used for Varnish plates.
However, extra channels can be used for spot colors, embossing
stamps, die cutting stamps or any other special effect
that requires outputting a plate.
