Download: Custom Photoshop Brushes, Series 2125 brushes for creating hair effects
By Dave Nagel
For our twenty-first set of brushes for Adobe Photoshop, I've decided to create yet another set designed for producing hair effects. This is owing mainly to the remarkable popularity of the previous set, as well as the fact that it's pretty difficult to exhaust all of the useful possibilities of these types of brushes. Once again, this brush collection is geared mainly toward the creation of textures for use in 3D modeling, though these sorts of brushes work well in 2D compositing environments as well.
The brushes Our collection this week (Nagel Series 21) includes 25 individual brushes for creating hair effects. I've focused more this time on brushes designed for specific purposes--eyebrows, moustaches, body hair, etc. All of the brushes are, of course, customizable, so you don't need to use them as-is. You can adjust the amount of spacing, rotation and other parameters as you see fit. The examples below all use the default parameters assigned to the brushes using just one or two swipes of a pressure-sensitive pen.
