Download: Custom Photoshop Brushes, Series 23 30 hair and fur brushes By Dave Nagel This is our fourth collection of hair and fur brushes for Adobe Photoshop. This time around we have 30 brushes designed to simulate a variety of strand types--long, short, curly, straight and wavy--for applications like texture mapping for 3D objects or compositing in 2D images.

The brushes
This week's collection features 30 individual brush presets for Photoshop CS only. They include several brushes for creating body hair; some for generating long, straight hair; and several hatched brushes for creating shorter hair effects, such as eyebrows and mustaches. All of the brushes are fully dynamic, so that, for example, you can use pen pressure to adjust the size and spread of the hair follicles as you paint or even adjust the variation in color without switching color swatches.



The examples below show six of the brushes from this week's collection (NagelSeries23). All are painted over a skin background (created using the NagelSeries20 brushes) using the "Luminosity" mode, allowing them to pick up the color from the underlying layer.
