Adobe Photoshop Elements 3 now features the capability to warp text. Using the Warp tool can easily be used to add text to an image, and the tool is really simple to use. In this tutorial, we are going to warp some text on an image.
First you need to select your text tool. It can either be the horizontal or vertical text tool, as the warp tool works both ways.
After this, click on the image and type in the text that you are going to warp. After you type in your text, you can adjust the font size as well as the color if you wish. In the example below, I selected 48 pt type and yellow text, just so you'll be able to see how the warp will turn out later.

Next, click on the warp button in the right corner of the tool bar. This will open up the warp text window, where you can define how you want your warp to look.

Here you can choose from 15 warp styles, including Arc, Arc Lower, Arc Upper, Arch, Bulge, Shell Lower, Shell Upper, Flag, Wave, Fish, Rise, Fish Eye, Inflate, Squeeze, and Twist. Each of these styles can be previewed by selecting them with the cursor. As you select the style, the text on the image will take the shape of that style.

So you can preview the styles without actually applying them to the text. In addition, you can adjust the bend, as well as the horizontal and vertical distortion of the warp as well. You can also move the text anywhere onto the screen that you wish, so if you want the text to warp around an object, you can move the text and adjust the distortions and bends accordingly. You can also change the type or add to it at any time by selecting the text, even after you choose your warp style and select OK. That's it. The Warp Tool in Photoshop Elements 3.0 is a very simple tool to use, yet gives you a lot of flexibility with what you can do with text on images. Below are some different warp samples that you can achieve with the new Warp tool in Photoshop Elements.
