One Fish. . .
Creating artwork in Photoshop ElementsChoose the blending mode difference as above. I want to see the fish a little better so we will remove some of the scratches. Choose the chalk brush again-use these settings:
95_Clear_35% - then erase just a bit off his face.
Now we will add the border. Drag the cracked frame onto the image. I think the fish needs to be sized and moved however, the layers that are under the fish need to be sized with it. Click on the fish layer and hold down shift then click the bottom layer this should highlight all the layers except the frame.
Now choose the move tool and begin to drag a corner square to size the fish and the underlying layers.
I dont know about you but the yellow is too much for me so we will recolor it. Click on the frame layer and go up to enhance on the menu and choose adjust/hue/saturation.
Use these settings:
Next, duplicate the purple scratch layer and drag it on top of the stack and choose linier light for the blending mode. Resize it so that it covers the whole image.
I have made the color too bright so we have to go back and adjust the frame one more time. It would have saved a step if I had lowered the saturation to begin with. Make sure you choose the frame layer before you do the adjustment.
After you have fixed the color, choose the rectangular selection tool and draw a square on the inside of the Purple Scratch square layer like this:
Make sure the copied purple layer is highlighted in the layers palette. Then click Ctrl and the letter X to cut the middle part out and to reveal the fish layer.
I have enlarged the fish layer and moved it around to suite me.
We are almost done. But, I like text with art work so I have used a Wacom tablet to draw some lines that look like they have been scratched into the paint. I have scratched out a box that will frame type. I chose the words, One Fish?
It looks fine without it, however, you can try to draw the lines with a mouse if you don't have a tablet. (I have included a finished image in the package f you would rather not. It is called Hand Border. Just open it and drag it on top, it should fit right over the dark purple border swirls).
If you want to try to draw:
Use brush 8 an a light purple color. Scratch away.
To add text, choose type tool on the toolbox and pick a font you like. This one is CK Rugged It comes with Creative Keepsakes Scrapbook software.
I made final adjustments on the frame layer by using various brushes and the eraser tool around the edge and make it darker.
I will create the yellow frame in the next tutorial.
